Paint booth with air conditioning, temperature and humidity control

Painting aircraft components with innovative ventilation systems

Painting aircraft components requires an environment in which temperature and humidity are stable all year round: air conditioning, heating and humidification are essential to ensure a high quality surface. Another success factor is the optimization of the material flow of the components to be painted, the improvement of the plant efficiency and the reduction of the total costs.

Enquiry

The customer asked us to expand their painting capacities for aerospace components with climate and humidity control. In order to reduce the space required in production by means of an external installation on the roof. The other requirement was to ensure the efficiency and ease of handling  of the parts during the application steps.

Solution

The system is a double paint booth with LED lighting and front roller doors in order to minimize the space required by wing doors and to simplify the transport of the components from A to B.

The curing of the components occurs in a special oven cabin and the paints are prepared in a custom designed paint mixing room.

The technological heart of the system is an air conditioning unit with a refrigeration machine, isothermal humidification with a gas-powered generator, indirect heating and a summer/winter heat recovery system. The system is controlled by a Blowtherm PLC control system with a 10-inch touchscreen, which enables all parameters to be monitored from a single station with remote control, production data acquisition and data archiving via the Blowtherm BPPC module.

Top technology for top performance.
