Automotive paint shop with innovative exhaust and supply air control
A start-up in the world of mobility with a growth strategy for car sharing is founding a new car repair center. An optimized technology package to serve customers, with sustainability and energy efficiency in mind.
Enquiry
The new system had to be installed in the current hangar in order to be transferred to expanded business premises later. To ensure the correct air exchange with controlled pressure and temperature, the system had to have a variable demand control to replace extracted and filtered air in both partial and full load operation. The system should meet the high quality and efficiency standards of the modern automotive world.
Solution
We have installed two World Spray Booths with a metal sub-frame, gratings and mobile access ramps so that we can easily move the system into a new workshop if necessary without expensive construction work. The paint booths are equipped with a PLC control system to control all process parameters precisely. The high-performance ventilation units with air-to-air cross-flow heat exchangers reduce the energy consumption during processing. Two paint-mixing rooms complete the system configuration.
We commissioned four fully equipped Genius universal preparation areas, in order to allow the customer to work flexibly and efficiently. The preparation areas can operate with partial air circulation or 100% exhaust air, which creates a negative pressure, rebalanced introducing outside make-up air. In this way, the indoor temperature alters via the supply of cold air in winter or warm air in summer, which influences the overall energy efficiency of the building. For this purpose, we have installed an ERP-compliant IH/AR warm air generator with pressure control. Depending on the operations mode, the digital sensor measures the pressure in the building and sends the signal to the make-up air unit so that the speed of the fan drives adjust to the needs. At the same time, a temperature sensor activates the built-in heating module when the internal temperature falls below a certain setpoint.
